App Privacy Policy

General Privacy Notes

Restrictions

You must be 13 or older to download our apps online and in mobile app stores including but not limited to iTunes and Google Play, and you can refer to the Apple and Google terms of service regarding who is allowed to hold an account. Pick Protection Limited is not responsible for the information collected by third party stores. For further information, we advise that you should also check the privacy policies of these above mentioned third parties.

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Pick Protection Limited apps may ask you to provide personal information including but not limited to your full name, your mobile number, your identifiable features, details of your vehicle, and your location information. We collect this information for the purpose of providing the best service we can for all of our app users, and in particular to enable appropriate responses to emergency events notified to us by end users of the apps. All this information will be stored in a secure central database in the “cloud” (on Amazon AWS virtual servers) and transmitted securely across networks. This information will be accessible only to those who are authorised to view it. For any one user, this will include administrators working for Pick Protection Limited, and it may also include one or more Administrators who work for the company which employs the end user and who has been pre-authorised to access the data for the purposes of running and maintaining a loan worker protection service across a given organisation or department.  This means that users who have the permissions will be able to see your location (where the app is active on your device or working in the background) and thus will be able to track and locate you. They will also be able to see the other information you have provided such as your personal details and records of any existing medical conditions.

Pick Protection Limited will only transmit this information where this is necessary for the functioning of the product. We will transmit details of users including personal details to third-party company Unipart Group for the purpose of the provision of Loan Worker Alarm response via their BS8484 accredited Alarm Receiving Centre (“ARC”) where loan worker alerts can be managed and directed. This information will be given to Unipart (where they are the designated ARC) so that they know how to direct a response quickly and efficiently based on the details of the user.  How Unipart handle this information is governed by their own internal policies but should comply with the agreed British Standards they have signed up to, and which means that your information should be kept secure. By using our apps and services you agree that liability for any unauthorised disclosures of your information by third party companies shall lie with those companies and not with Pick Protection Limited (in line with the rules set out by existing legislation on this topic).

Pick Protection Limited works with third party company Google to automatically collect information including but not limited to: IP address; MAC (Media Access Control) address; unique identifier or other persistent or non-persistent device identifier; device software platform and firmware, mobile phone carrier and geo location data to help us understand your use of our app such as how often you return, what parts of the app you visit, how you use the app and how long you spend on the app.

None of your secure information, such as credit card and payment details or password, is collected. This third-party provider is prohibited from using our data for any other purposes. All information will be retained as long as necessary. We use Firebase to both collect information for analytics, and to enable a push notification service that allow individuated communication to specific devices or users or groups of users.

We use the data we collect about your use of our app to analyse trends across the data set of all customers worldwide, and to enable us to offer a better service to you.

Pick Protection Ltd works with third party company Crashlytics to enable us to track crashes in our smartphone apps. The app may send data to this service in order to enable this functionality.
